ABOUT SOMERLEY FIELDS

Somerley Fields is the creation of brothers Ashley and Myles, together with Tish and their families, whose shared love of the countryside and creative vision have brought this corner of Hundredsteddle Farm to life.

Raised on the land with muddy boots and early starts, Ashley and Myles come from a long line of farmers. Through their business, AMS Contracting, they’ve spent years supporting farmers, landscapers, developers and councils across the UK - helping to keep the land productive, purposeful, and cared for.

Here at Somerley Fields, nestled within the historic Hundredsteddle Farm near Earnley, just outside Chichester, the trio and their families are growing something a little different.

Hundredsteddle Farm itself is steeped in history. Dating back to medieval times, it was once the meeting point for the hundred court of the Bishop of Chichester, where local matters were decided. The name “Hundredsteddle” refers to the platform or floor on which these courts sat - a lasting reminder of its role as a gathering place for the community.

Inspired by their love of the land and a shared desire to diversify, the team transformed one of their paddocks into a sea of sunflowers - the start of something entirely new. What began as a small idea soon blossomed into a welcoming, seasonal space where people could reconnect with nature, enjoy time together, and take a little countryside beauty home with them.

2025 marked Somerley Fields’ very first year, with the opening of the Pick Your Own Sunflowers in summer, followed by Pumpkin Season in autumn. From golden blooms to glowing pumpkins, it’s been a year full of colour, laughter and muddy boots - and just the beginning of what’s to come.

Created with sustainability and community in mind, Somerley Fields champions British farming, low-impact land use and local partnerships. It’s a joyful place with its roots in the soil and its heart in the future.

This is still very much a working farm, with all the character and charm that comes with it. But it’s also a place to slow down, breathe in the crisp country air, and enjoy something joyful. From pumpkin picking to cosy autumn treats, wellness sessions to golden-hour photoshoots, we’re creating more than just a day out – it’s a whole experience.

We care deeply about sustainability and doing things the right way – using what we have, treading lightly on the land, and supporting other small businesses wherever we can. Everything from your pumpkins to your hot chocolate is chosen with intention and heart.

With new ideas always in the works, we’re proud to say this is only the beginning.

Thank you for being part of our story so far.
